Columbus, Nov. 2012

In November 2012 the Explorers were selected to represent both our own school and our whole school district at the annual Ohio School Boards Association conference.

Each year this event includes a Student Achievement Fair where innovative student groups demonstrate their activities and projects. Four of the previous year’s students from the Explorers accompanied Mr. Ramsey to Columbus and manned our school district’s booth. During the four hours of the Student Achievement Fair, Elizabeth, Haily, Jainah, and Matteo demonstrated and explained some of our projects (including color wheels, lava lamps, UV beads, optical illusions, and jelly marbles and crystals) to hundreds of visitors to the annual conference. Among those stopping by to see us were several members of our school district’s school board and administration.

Despite a bit of initial nervousness, our students did an outstanding job of representing not just the Explorers but our school and district. Check out the photo gallery to see some pictures from our day in Columbus!
